Together for Cransley 2016 Concert Announces Final total
Raunds Ukulele Orchestra and A Different Direction Choir are very proud to announce that their Together for Cransley concert on Saturday 12 March 2016 raised an amazing £2322.25! Musical director of both groups, Chris Gammon, visited the hospice on Tuesday 29th March to present the final cheque.
The concert was a sell-out, and the 140-strong audience enjoyed a varied programme of uke and choral music – the collaborative pieces proved particularly popular.
An auction of gifts and promises from individuals and local businesses raised more than £650, while the raffle of 40 prizes contributed over £450.
The total far exceeded the initial £1000 target. Cransley Hospice is continually striving to develop so that they can offer a greatly enhanced service to more people. They have recently extended the care they provide throughout the community and in patient’s home to a 24/7 service. More patients can be treated at their place of choice than ever before. The money raised on the night will make a real difference to their planned developments.
Both groups have close links with the hospice. Some members of the choir work at Cransley, while members of both groups have experience of close friends or family members using their services. The plan is to make the concert an annual musical celebration and raise more money for this valuable and important charity.
If you’d like to sing in the choir or join the ukulele orchestra, there’s never been a better time to do it than now.
